NEW BEDFORD, Mass. – Rich Anastasi pitched six shutout innings and Francis Whitten broke a scoreless tie with an RBI double in the fifth inning as the Old Orchard Beach Raging Tide beat the New Bedford Bay Sox 3-0 Thursday night in a New England Collegiate Baseball League game.

Tim Quinn added a two-run single in the ninth for the Raging Tide (5-16) and Oliver Van Zant pitched the final inning against the Bay Sox (7-9) for the save.

SANFORD 5, MYSTIC 2: Matt Verrier drove in two runs with a seventh-inning single to help the Mainers (10-9) defeat the Schooners (8-9) at Mystic, Conn.

AMERICAN LEGION

FIRST TITLE 8, ANDREWS POST 0: Ryan Casale pitched a two-hitter as First Title shut out Andrews Post (8-2) at Portland.

Nic Lops homered and Nick Melville, Joey Royer and Tyler Flaherty each had two hits.

FALMOUTH 8, CUMBERLAND 6: Dillon Dresser doubled home E.J. Rogers and later scored to cap a four-run second inning, giving Falmouth a 5-0 lead on the way to a victory at Cumberland (3-6).

LIBBY-MITCHELL 5, MOODY’S COLLISION 2: Brendan Sullivan pitched a five-hitter and had an RBI single and scored during a four-run first inning to lead Libby-Mitchell (5-5) past Moody’s Collision (4-7) at Scarborough.

MORRILL POST 3, NOVA SEAFOOD 1: Matt DiBiase was 2 for 2 with three RBI as Morrill Post (6-3) defeated Nova Seafood at South Portland.

FAYETTE-STAPLES 9, RAMSDELL-ROGERS 6: Matt Turnage doubled home Alex Newton and scored on Jon Dupee’s double as Fayette-Staples (11-1) took a 6-4 lead in the fifth inning and went on to a victory at Saco.

SACO-BIDDEFORD SAVINGS 11, KENNEBUNK 2: Pat Wilson drove in three runs on three hits to lead Saco-Biddeford (9-3) past Kennebunk at Biddeford.

Wilson had a two-run homer, and Brady Fleurent also had three hits and knocked in two runs.

JUNIOR LEGION

WINDHAM 7, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 4: Cody Dube tripled home Ryan Whiting and Jack Herzig to start a four-run first inning as Windham (8-1) beat visiting Gray-New Gloucester (3-6).

Joey Francoeur doubled home Dube and scored on Calvin Field’s single to complete the first-inning rally.

YARMOUTH 5, FAIRFIELD 1: Travis Hamre had a two-run double in the second inning to lead Yarmouth (7-4) over visiting Fairfield (6-3).

Nick Lainey pitched a six-hitter for the win.

KENNEBUNK 7, SACO 6: Logan Bement lined a two-out RBI single in the seventh inning as Kennebunk (6-1) edged Saco (4-5) at Kennebunk.
