The Betty Blakeman Memorial tennis tournament will be held July 15-17 at Yarmouth High School and satellite sites. The divisions include men’s open singles and doubles, women’s open singles and doubles, open mixed doubles and men’s 55-plus singles and doubles. The University of Maine baseball team will be holding its annual Larry K. Mahaney Golf Classic on July 25 at Penobscot Valley Country Club in Orono. Each participating golfer will receive a door prize, and a dinner will be served following the 18-hole round. The registration for the event will start at 11:30 a.m., with a shotgun start at 12:30 p.m. A reception, auction and dinner will follow. The cost is $125 per participant.
