PORTLAND — Alex Hassan gave the Portland Sea Dogs their second straight win with a walk-off home run over the left field wall in the ninth inning, for a 4-3 victory over the New Britain Rock Cats this afternoon at Hadlock Field.

Hassan, Portland’s leading hitter with a .323 average, went 2-for-3 in the game.

Chris Balcom-Miller started for Portland and threw 6 1/3 strong innings, allowing four hits and three runs (two earned). Reliever Blake Maxwell (1-1) got the win with 2 2/3 innings of work, allowing one hit.

The Sea Dogs return to Hadlock Thursday at 7 p.m. for a game against the New Hampshire Fisher Cats.
