AUGUSTA — Junior Mo Hannan pitched a two-hitter and also drove in a pair of runs to lead Scarborough High to a 5-0 victory over Messalonskee for the Class A state softball championship today.

Hannan had 10 strikeouts, including the final out of the game, to record her fourth shutout of the postseason. It was a scoreless game entering the fifth inning when the Red Storm scored three times on four hits.

Hannan drove in the first run with a double, then scored on a single by Abby Rutt. Erin Giles followed with an RBI double. The Red Storm (19-1) then added two in the sixth on RBI singles by Lauren Aceto and Hannan.

This is Scarborough’s third state championship since 2007.
