CAPE ELIZABETH – The Cape Elizabeth boys lacrosse team’s quest for yet another Class B West title came up short on Wednesday as the Capers lost 11-9 on the road to Falmouth in the regional championship game.

But the Capers didn’t go down without a fight. Trailing 11-5 with just over four minutes to go, the Capers started a comeback battle, scoing four goals to cut the Falmouth lead to two, but Cape wasn’t able to get over the hump and wrap up the win.

Teddy Smith led the Cape offense with four goals and four assists. Justin Cary added three goals for the Capers, and Tim Lavallee and Timmy Takach each chipped in with a goal.
