Criminal offense – Route 1, 8:17 p.m. Police investigated a report of persons shooting a firearm out of a vehicle.

Thursday, May 26

Trespassing – Running Tide Road, 1:56 p.m. A resident reported that subject from a nearby group home was trying to get into the house.

Tresspassing – Municipal Drive at 9:26 p.m. The custodian at Scarborough High School reported hearing people on the roof. Doors on the roof were found propped open, but the subjects were gone by the time police arrived. The school resource officer was later able to identify multiple juveniles using the building’s security footage.

Assault – Jasper Street, 11:53 p.m. A person reported that four people unknown to him knocked on his door and berated him concerning an ex-girlfriend. He was “roughed up” but did not require medical attention.

Friday, May 27

Theft – Hannaford Drive, 1:43 p.m. A woman reported that a billfold with credit cards was taken from her purse in a shopping cart at Hannaford. The credit cards were reportedly used later that day at businesses in the area. Police had no suspects as of June 6.

Theft – Pleasant Hill Road, 2:38 p.m. A 16-foot Old Town canoe, two 14-foot Old Town kayaks and two wooden paddles, valued at $1,400, combined, were taken from a resident’s barn.

Terrorizing – Municipal Drive, 4:14 p.m. Tow male subjects were warned for shooting a BB gun, the balls of which had reportedly struck passing vehicles.

Disturbance – Orchard Street, 8:58 p.m. Police responded to a report of fireworks being shot off.

Saturday. May 28

Vandalism – Beech Ridge Road, 4:38 p.m. A resident reported that his 1997 Ford Explorer had been shot at the previous evening, while parked in his driveway. Police found that a .22-caliber bullet had pierced the outside of the truck’s door, but had not penetrated into the inside of the vehicle.

Monday, May 30

Burglary – King Street, 6:01 p.m. A GPS unit was reportedly stolen from a parked vehicle overnight.

Wednesday, June 1

Vandalism – Landmark Road, 6:36 a.m. and Broadturn Road, 9:42 a.m. Mailboxes on both roads were said to have been “smashed” overnight.

Theft – Municipal Drive, 9:07 a.m. An 8-gigabyte iTouch iPod, valued at $250, was reported stolen from the boys’ locker room at the high school.

Theft – Route 1, 9:14 a.m. A large Lennox commercial air conditioning/heating unit, valued at $7,000, was reported stolen overnight from Ferrett Realty.

Drug offense – Science Park Road, 12:03 p.m. Police spoke with a woman who was reportedly attempting to sell her Adderall, a prescription drug.

Theft – Municipal Drive, 1 p.m. An 8-gigabyte iTouch iPod, valued at $200, was reported stolen from a classroom at the high school.

Suspicious Act – Bayview Avenue, 3:37 p.m. A suspected pipe bomb was found in the Higgins Beach area. A Maine State Police bomb squad was called in to detonate the device.

Theft – Fogg Road, 2:16 p.m. A resident reported a stolen wheelbarrow.

Theft – Route 1, 4:17 p.m. An iPad was reported stolen from a room at the Itsa Good Motel.

Vandalism – Route 1, 4:57 p.m. A man reported that multiple people in a passing vehicle threw trash at him, cracking his windshield. Police determined that the crack was pre-existing. Damage was reportedly limited to peanut butter and jelly smeared on the side of the complainant’s car.

Theft – Municipal Drive, 1:27 p.m. A Samsung cell phone valued at $100 was reported stolen from the boys’ locker room at the high school.
