WESTBROOK – Former Mayor Bruce Chuluda, the grand marshal at the parade during Saturday’s Westbrook Together Days, said this week that he would be pleased to appear.
“It’s certainly an honor to do that,” he said.
Chuluda, 63, who has lived in Westbrook since 1978 and served as the city’s mayor for six years, said he has often participated in Westbrook Together Days, both as mayor and as a member and past president of the Westbrook Chamber of Commerce.
Chuluda said he could not recall ever serving as parade marshal, however. He said he had been asked to do so last year, as well, but the parade got rained out, so he was unable to appear.
This year, he said, he was asked to serve as marshal again, and is optimistic that forecasts for better weather this year will come true on Saturday.
“I’m looking forward to a great, sunny weekend with nice weather,” he said.
The parade will start at 10 a.m. Saturday on Lincoln Street. It will travel along to Bridge Street, then to Main Street, ending at Riverbank Park.
