WINDHAM – Four Windham students and a parent were involved in a head-on collision on Pope Road Tuesday morning.

The collision occurred shortly after 7 a.m. when a vehicle carrying three students was traveling north on Pope Road and struck a car traveling south.

According to Lt. David DeGruchy of the Windham Police Department, the vehicle with the three students failed to negotiate the corner at the Pope Road and Swett Road intersection and veered into the oncoming lane colliding with the other car. No names have been released so far.

A LifeFlight helicopter and several ambulances transported the victims to Maine Medical Center. At this time, there are no reported fatalities and the extent of injuries is unknown.
