Brunswick police arrested a 32-year-old woman following an early morning stabbing today in Brunswick.

Nicole Hubert of Brunswick was charged with elevated aggravated assault. Police said they suspect her of stabbing a 37-year-old man about 2 a.m. in a home on Madeline Drive in Brunswick.

After the alleged incident, Hubert and another person began to take the victim to a hospital, but, according to police, Hubert jumped from the moving vehicle on Soper Road in Durham.

A passer-by called for the Durham Rescue Squad, and both Hubert and the stabbing victim were taken by ambulance to Central Maine Medical Center.

His injuries, according to police, are serious but not life threatening. Hubert was released from the hospital after treatment for minor injuries sustained when she jumped from the car. She was released from police custody after making bail at the Brunswick Police Station.
