NEW YORK – Steven Tyler’s memoir has a million of ’em.

Like that night in 1978 when he blacked out on stage while singing “Reefer-Headed Woman.” Or when he and Aerosmith visited the White House on the day President Bill Clinton was impeached. Or that weird weekend with Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards at Bing Crosby’s old house on Long Island. Everyone, Tyler writes, “was gacked to the nines on coke.”

The Associated Press purchased a copy on Thursday of “Does the Noise in My Head Bother You?”, scheduled for release next week. Explicit and filled with expletives, it reads like an even wilder and louder version of Richards’ best-selling “Life.” Tyler, 63, settles back and tells story after story about life in the “most decadent, lecherous, sexiest, nastiest band in the land.”

Or as Tyler states it: “To snort or not to snort. That wasn’t even a question.”

The road was so crazy that Tyler can’t remember how many times he was arrested. He recalls visiting Paul and Linda McCartney backstage with Bebe Buell, the mother of Tyler’s daughter, Liv. Buell and Linda McCartney did not hit it off. Buell called her “Sluggo.” McCartney answers “Sluggett.” They wrestle to the floor. But the men are fine. “I like your music, man,” Paul says.

A native of Yonkers, N.Y., Tyler was born Steve Victor Tallarico in 1948. He remembers hearing Elvis Presley as a little kid, and feeling like he was “bitten by a radioactive spider.”

By age 15, he knew he wanted to be a rock star and he knew he liked to get high, mastering the art of rigging his bedroom door so he wouldn’t get caught smoking pot.

Bon Jovi guitarist reportedly back in rehab

NEW YORK – Bon Jovi announced that Richie Sambora will miss dates on its current tour amid reports that the guitarist is heading to rehab.

In a statement released Thursday, the group said its support for Sambora was “absolute” and that he remained a member of the band.

But it also said he would miss an undetermined number of concerts and that it looked forward to his “healthy return.”

Neither the band nor its publicist would confirm or deny reports that Sambora planned to enter rehab. He went to rehab a few years ago.

Reporter feared for life during assault in Egypt

NEW YORK – CBS correspondent Lara Logan says she believed she was going to die while she was being sexually assaulted and beaten in Egypt’s Tahrir Square.

Logan speaks out Sunday on CBS’ “60 Minutes” about the assault, which happened while she was reporting on that country’s political uprising. She was set upon by a mob of several hundred men.

She said in an interview with Scott Pelley that “there was no doubt in my mind that I was in the process of dying. I thought not only am I going to die, but it’s going to be just a torturous death that’s going to go on forever.”

After being rescued, she returned to the United States and was treated in a hospital for four days.

Attacker gets jail time

LOS ANGELES – Prosecutors say the man who accosted Paris Hilton’s boyfriend outside a Los Angeles courthouse has pleaded no contest to misdemeanor battery and has been sentenced to 227 days in jail.

City attorney’s spokesman Frank Mateljan says James Rainford entered the plea during a court appearance Thursday in Van Nuys and was immediately sentenced.

Rainford was seen trying to grab or hit Cy Waits as he and Hilton walked into a Van Nuys courthouse to testify against a man arrested outside the celebrity socialite’s home last year. Rainford was tackled by Hilton’s security.
