PORTLAND — A Portland man has been sentenced to 37 months in prison for aiding and abetting the robbery of a bank.

Kelvin Smith, 34, was also sentenced to three years of supervised release by U.S. District Court Judge D. Brock Hornby, according to U.S. Attorney Thomas Delahanty II.

Phillip Burston used a gun to rob a Key Bank branch on Brighton Avenue on Sept. 16, 2009, and Smith drove the getaway vehicle, according to authorities. The two men split about $1,465 that Burton got from the bank.

Burton was sentenced to 52 months in prison in August.

Smith also used the first name Kevin.
