KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Pinch-hitter Shelley Duncan’s RBI double sparked a four-run 10th inning Monday night and the surprising Cleveland Indians widened their AL Central lead with a 7-3 victory against the second-place Kansas City Royals.

Rookie left-hander Tim Collins (1-1) walked Carlos Santana leading off the 10th and Duncan hooked a two-base hit barely fair into the left-field corner. Grady Sizemore, in his second game back from knee surgery, added an RBI single and was 3 for 5 after going 2 for 4 on Sunday in his first game since May 16, 2010.

Joe Smith (1-0) got the victory with 11/3 innings of hitless relief as the Indians won their fourth straight.

 

RAYS 5, WHITE SOX 0: David Price allowed four hits in eight dominant innings and Tampa Bay won at St. Petersburg, Fla.

Price (2-2) struck out nine and walked two. He entered 0-4 with a 4.88 ERA in four starts against the White Sox.

Felipe Lopez homered and drove in three runs, helping Tampa Bay win for the sixth time in seven games. Ben Zobrist had a two-run homer.

 

TWINS 5, ORIOLES 3: Francisco Liriano took a two-hitter into the seventh inning, and visiting Minnesota extended Baltimore’s losing streak to eight games.

Drew Butera had a career-high three RBI for the last-place Twins (6-10), who have won two straight for the first time this season.

Minnesota led 3-0 before Liriano yielded solo homers to Adam Jones and Matt Wieters in the seventh. Baltimore got two on with two outs later in the inning before Derrek Lee hit a routine fly to center against a former Oriole, Jim Hoey.

RANGERS 7, ANGELS 1: C.J. Wilson struck out nine in seven strong innings as Texas won at Arlington, Texas.

Adrian Beltre homered for the second straight night and Mitch Moreland drove in three runs. Ian Kinsler snapped an 0-for-19 slide with a pair of extra-base hits before scoring on a suicide squeeze by Elvis Andrus, who had been in an extended slump before his three hits.

The Rangers, back from a nine-game trip, had lost 4 of 5 as Los Angeles won five straight to enter the three-game series tied with Texas atop the division at 10-5. Texas has started a season with seven consecutive home victories for the first time.

NATIONAL LEAGUE

PIRATES 9, REDS 3: Andrew McCutchen doubled home two runs at Cincinnati as part of Pittsburgh’s biggest offensive showing this season.

The Pirates scored three runs in the first off left-hander Travis Wood (1-2).

Kevin Correia (3-1) gave up four hits during his second career complete game.

 

CUBS 1, PADRES 0: Pinch-hitter Tyler Colvin doubled home Geovany Soto with two outs in the 10th inning to lift Chicago at home.

Soto reached on a fielder’s choice with two outs, then scored from first when Colvin lined a shot to right.

Carlos Marmol (1-1) struck out two in 11/3 scoreless innings to pick up the win for the Cubs.

BREWERS 6, PHILLIES 3: Ryan Braun drove in the go-ahead run with a sacrifice fly in the 12th inning and Milwaukee won at Philadelphia.

Brandon Kintzler (1-0) pitched two scoreless innings to earn his first win in the majors.

The NL East-leading Phillies rallied against closer John Axford in the ninth, making it 3-3 on pinch-hitter Pete Orr’s RBI single with one out.

 

GIANTS 8, ROCKIES 1: Tim Lincecum took a no-hitter into the seventh inning as San Francisco won at Denver.

Spotted an early eight-run cushion thanks to homers by Pat Burrell, Nate Schierholtz and Freddy Sanchez, Lincecum cruised through Colorado’s lineup, dominating baseball’s best team over the season’s first 2½ weeks until Carlos Gonzalez broke up his no-hit bid with a clean single in the seventh.
