GRAY — A man threatening suicide led police and tracking dogs on an extensive search in Gray Friday evening.
The 20-year-old was ultimately taken into custody unharmed and transported to Maine Medical Center. He had threatened to kill himself and said he was armed with a handgun, although no gun was found.
Deputies from the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office responded along with officers from the Windham Police Department and Maine State Police. Police closed Center Road in Gray and used the man’s cellphone signal and dogs to track him more than two miles through a wooded area, police said.
