The Seacoast United Maine U12 girls’ soccer team won the New England Football Club Preseason Tournament in Hopkinton, Mass., in late March. The team finished in first after the pool matches and defeated NEFC U12 Swat, a nationally ranked team from Massachusetts, 1-0 in the championship game.
Members of the team include Vanessa Hodge, McKenzie Murphy, Raquel Hardin, Holly Spencer, Meghan Perrin, Ashley Perriello, Madelyn Leen, Arianna Giguere, Caitlyn Winn, Lauren Wendland, Gabby Bickford, Mariah Deschino, Sydney Littlefield and coach Josh Needle.
Boston University senior Matthew Rickett, a Deering graduate, finished in 36th place with a time of 47.65 seconds in the 100-yard butterfly at the NCAA championship meet in Minneapolis.
Rickett earned his invitation to the NCAA meet after winning the 100-yard butterfly at the America East Championship.
Daniel ‘D.J.’ Honan of Falmouth shot an opening-round 71 and a final-round 74 as he earned his first career International Junior Golf Tour win at the Hershey Links Golf Club this past weekend.
