KENNEBUNK — Investigators from the state Attorney General’s Office were headed to Kennbunk on Sunday night to investigate a shooting by a police officer.

“It would appear to be fatal, but I am not certain yet,” said Brian MacMaster, director of investigations for the Attorney General’s Office.

MacMaster said he was informed by Kennebunk police that someone had been shot by a police officer about 9 p.m. at 16 Nottingham Court. He did not have any other details.

Whenever there is a use of deadly force by a police officer, the Attorney General’s Office must investigate.
