PORTLAND — Courtney Anderson scored 11 of her game-high 21 points to lead Leavitt High of Turner to its first Class B girls’ basketball state championship, a 49-37 decision over Nokomis on Friday night at the Cumberland County Civic Center.

Leavitt trailed only once in the game, at 19-18, and controlled the tempo throughout.

The Hornets finished 22-0, while Nokomis, losing in the state title game for the second consecutive year, finished 19-3.

Adrianna Newton added 13 points for Leavitt. Freshman Kylie Richards led Nokomis with 12 points.
