CALGARY, Alberta — Milan Lucic scored two goals and Tim Thomas made 28 saves as the Boston Bruins beat the Calgary Flames 3-1 on Tuesday night.

Brad Marchand had the other goal for the Bruins. Curtis Glencross had the Flames’ goal.

Marchand made it 2-0 for Boston at 5:55 of the third period. Flames goalie Miikka Kiprusoff kicked out Patrice Bergeron’s shot from the wing straight to Marchand, who put his 19th goal into the open net.

After Glencross broke Thomas’ shutout bid with 2:33 left off a nice pass from Jarome Iginla on a power play, Lucic clinched the win with an empty-net goal in the final minute.

SHARKS 4, RED WINGS 3: Joe Thornton scored his 300th career goal, Devin Setoguchi had two and San Jose held on at Detroit.

Henrik Zetterberg scored a power-play goal with 1:51 left to pull the Red Wings within a goal, but they couldn’t beat Antti Niemi again to force overtime.

BLUE JACKETS 4, PREDATORS 0: Steve Mason made 20 saves for his 18th NHL shutout and Rick Nash scored two of Columbus’ four third-period goals to lift the Blue Jackets past Nashville at Columbus, Ohio.

RANGERS 4, HURRICANES 3: Wojtek Wolski scored the tying goal with 1:50 left in regulation and then netted the only goal in the shootout to rally New York at Raleigh, N.C.

AVALANCHE 4, BLUES 3: Erik Johnson scored the go-ahead goal against host St. Louis, which traded him three days earlier, and Colorado broke a 10-game winless streak.

Johnson, who was traded from St. Louis to Colorado as part of a four-player trade on Saturday, scored with 5:06 left to break a 2-2 tie.

COYOTES 3, FLYERS 2: Shane Doan scored an overtime power-play goal to lift Phoenix at Philadelphia.

MAPLE LEAFS 2, ISLANDERS 1: Phil Kessel’s goal with less than five minutes to play snapped a tie and gave host Toronto a win over New York.

DEVILS 1, STARS 0: Nick Palmieri scored a power-play goal with 5:37 left and Johan Hedberg stopped 19 shots for his 17th NHL shutout as New Jersey won at Dallas.

WILD 4, OILERS 1: Pierre-Marc Bouchard’s spin-o-rama tally highlighted a three-goal, third-period outburst for Minnesota in a victory over Edmonton at St. Paul, Minn.
