BIDDEFORD – Kelley Paradis reached a milestone Wednesday night while scoring 11 of her 14 points in the second half as the University of New England pulled away to a 67-35 victory over Gordon in a Commonwealth Coast Conference women’s basketball game.

Paradis became the school’s 19th women’s player to reach 1,000 career points when she hit a 3-pointer with 2:13 remaining.

Beth Suggs added 13 points for the Nor’easters (18-6, 11-1 Commonwealth Coast), Margo Russell 12 and Kari Pelletier 10.

Sara Schwanke and Clancey Adams each scored nine points for the Scots (2-22, 1-11).

(6) XAVIER 92, ST. LOUIS 60: Amber Harris had 21 points and 10 rebounds, and visiting Xavier (22-2, 10-0 Atlantic 10) shot a season-best 66 percent to beat St. Louis (7-19, 1-10).

(22) MARQUETTE 66, SETON HALL 58: Tatiyiana McMorris had 17 points to lead Marquette (20-5, 8-4 Big East) to a victory over Seton Hall (8-17, 1-11) at South Orange, N.J.

GORDON 69, UNE 56: David Dempsey had 21 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Scots (11-13, 7-5 Commonwealth Coast) over the Nor’easters (4-20, 2-10) at Biddeford.

Charles Fenner had 14 points and Marcus Winn 10 for UNE.

(3) TEXAS 73, OKLAHOMA STATE 55: Gary Johnson had 17 points and 10 rebounds as Texas (23-3, 11-0 Big 12) beat Oklahoma (16-9, 4-7) at Austin, Texas.

(4) PITTSBURGH 67, SOUTH FLORIDA 55: Nasir Robinson and Brad Wanamaker each had 13 points and Pittsburgh (24-2, 12-1 Big East) pulled away over the final 10 minutes to beat visiting South Florida (8-19, 2-12).

(5) DUKE 56, VIRGINIA 41: Nolan Smith had 22 points, seven rebounds and four assists as Duke (24-2, 11-1 ACC) overcame a sluggish start to beat Virginia (12-13, 3-8) at Charlottesville, Va.

(13) UCONN 78, (9) GEORGETOWN 70: Kemba Walker had 31 points, 10 assists and seven rebounds to lead Connecticut (20-5, 8-5 Big East) to a victory over visiting Georgetown (20-6, 9-5), snapping the Hoyas’ eight-game winning streak.

(11) PURDUE 70, (10) WISCONSIN 62: JaJuan Johnson had 20 points and E’Twaun Moore scored 19 to help Purdue (21-5, 10-3 Big Ten) beat Wisconsin (19-6, 9-4) at West Lafayette, Ind.

Jon Leuer scored 23 points and Jordan Taylor added 15 for the Badgers, combining to shoot 16 of 27 from the field while the rest of the team went 8 of 32.

CINCINNATI 63, (16) LOUISVILLE 54: Cashmere Wright scored 20 points, Sean Kilpatrick added 18 and Cincinnati (20-6, 7-6 Big East) bolstered its NCAA tournament resume with a victory over visiting Louisville (19-7, 8-5).

(18) VANDERBILT 64, GEORGIA 56: John Jenkins scored all of his 21 points in the final 14 minutes and Vanderbilt (19-6, 7-4 SEC) rallied from a second-half deficit of 14 points to beat Georgia (17-8, 6-5) at Athens, Ga.

Georgia led 40-26 before Jenkins scored his first points on a 3-pointer with 13:15 remaining to start Vanderbilt’s comeback.

(21) TEXAS A&M 71, IOWA STATE 66: Nathan Walkup scored 19 points and Texas A&M (20-5, 7-4 Big 12) held off Iowa State (14-12, 1-10) at College Station, Texas.
