PORTLAND – Louie DiStasio scored 12 of his game-high 21 points in the first half Thursday night as Cheverus took command on the way to a 57-40 victory against Marshwood in a Southern Maine Activities Association schoolboy basketball game.
Joe Savino had eight of his nine assists in the first half as Cheverus (14-0) opened a 35-16 lead.
Matt Cimino finished with 10 points for the Stags.
Jack Verrill led Marshwood (8-6) with 11 points. Matthew Crosby scored 10.
A.R. GOULD 56, NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 49: Moses Losuk scored nine of his game-high 19 points in the fourth quarter as the Bears (9-6) pulled away from the Panthers (5-10) at South Portland.
Losuk added 15 rebounds and six steals, and Steve Lyons chipped in with 17 points for A.R. Gould.
WESTBROOK 53, NOBLE 29: Trevor Bates had 14 points for the the Blue Blazes (10-4), who scored 46 points in the paint to down the Knights (3-12) at North Berwick.
Bates scored eight in the first half to help Westbrook go up 26-10. Ngout Nguot added five of his nine in the first half.
BONNY EAGLE 62, MASSABESIC 38: Cole Libby had 18 points and 11 rebounds, and Isiah Brown added 13 points to lead the Scots (11-3) past the Mustangs (0-14) at Standish.
Ryan Dodge scored 13 points and Chris Gahm added 11 for Massabesic.
BIDDEFORD 68, GORHAM 60: Robert Cote scored 17 points and Chance Baldino added 16 for the Tigers (6-8), who pulled away from the Rams (3-11) in the fourth quarter at Gorham.
Mike Lachance chipped in 10 points for Biddeford, which led just 53-52 after three quarters.
CAPE ELIZABETH 52, WELLS 39: Theo Bowe scored 23 points, and Joey Doane had 18 points and seven rebounds to lead the Capers (12-3) past the Warriors (9-6) at Cape Elizabeth.
Bowe and Doane each made four 3-pointers. They combined for 31 first-half points.
SOUTH PORTLAND 86, DEERING 64: Vukasin Vignjevic made five 3-pointers while scoring 17 of his game-high 27 points in the first quarter for the Red Riots (11-3), who opened with a 16-2 run and cruised past the Rams (9-5) at South Portland.
GREELY 58, FRYEBURG ACADEMY 36: Caleb King had 14 points, and Nick Clark and Tanner Storey each chipped in 10 for the Rangers (14-1) against the Raiders (2-12) at Fryeburg.
YORK 74, TRAIP ACADEMY 60: Liam Langaas scored a game-high 20 points and Kyle Robinson added 17 for the Wildcats (10-4) against the Rangers (7-8) at York.
THORNTON ACADEMY 68, WINDHAM 44: Justin Pollard scored 17 points to lead the Golden Trojans (11-3) over the Eagles (6-8) at Windham.
BOOTHBAY REGION 70, GEORGES VALLEY 46: Dan Dickinson had 13 points and seven steals as the Seahawks (12-3) handled the Buccaneers (5-10) at Boothbay Harbor.
FALMOUTH 65, POLAND 46: Matt Kingry scored a game-high 23 points for the Yachtsmen (7-7) against the Knights (6-8) at Poland.
OLD ORCHARD BEACH 52, SACOPEE VALLEY 31: Rajheem Lang scored 12 points, Ryan Gallant added 11 and Nate Down grabbed 10 rebounds as the Seagulls (10-4) cruised past the Hawks (2-13) at Old Orchard Beach.
LINCOLN ACADEMY 49, MARANACOOK 46: Brandon Reilly had 14 points and 11 rebounds as the Eagles (7-8) beat the Black Bears (9-6) at Newcastle.
MT. ARARAT 50, ERSKINE ACADEMY 42: Luke Liedman scored 13 points to lead Mt. Ararat (10-5) past Erskine Academy (1-14) at South China.
MEDOMAK VALLEY 62, ROCKLAND 41: John Murray had 13 points and nine rebounds, and Isaac Greenrose added 12 points to lead Medomak Valley (12-3) past Rockland (3-12) at Waldoboro.
KENNEBUNK 53, SANFORD 35: Vann Brazz scored 15 points to help the Rams (4-10) defeat Sanford (3-11) at Kennebunk.

FALMOUTH 3, SCARBOROUGH 1: Alden Weller and Kris Samaras scored first-period goals and the Yachtsmen (6-4-2) held off the Red Storm (5-7) at Saco.
SOUTH PORTLAND 3, GORHAM 2: The Red Riots (5-5-2) scored three times in the second period to beat the Rams (4-8) at Portland.
DEERING 9, LAKE REGION 3: Griffin Py scored three goals, and Connor Petropoulos and Ari Hymoff added two goals and two assists each to lead the Rams (5-7) past Lake Region (3-10) at Portland.
GREELY 5, YARMOUTH 1: Devyn Rogers had two goals, and Kenny Richards and Justin Richards each had a goal and an assist as the Rangers (11-1-1) defeated the Clippers (8-6) at Yarmouth.
