PORTLAND — The Maine Turnpike Authority is ordering drivers to slow down.

The speed limit for the turnpike from Kittery to exit 109 in Augusta is set at 45 mph for Friday’s morning commute.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for much of Maine through 4 p.m. Friday. Up to eight inches of snow is expected.

A winter weather advisory is in effect for northwestern Maine. Accumulations there could reach six inches.
