DALLAS – Jason Kidd broke out of an awful shooting slump to score a season-high 21 points, and Jason Terry and Shawn Marion provided solid scoring as reserves Wednesday night, helping the Dallas Mavericks beat the Los Angeles Lakers 109-100 and end an ugly six-game losing streak.
Kidd made 8 of 12 shots after going 1 of 14 over his previous two games.
The Mavericks made a similar turnaround, going from five straight losses by at least 10 points each — their worst such stretch since their woeful days in the mid-1990s — to a convincing victory against the two-time defending champions.
Pau Gasol scored 23 points as the Lakers lost for the second time in their last 10 games. Kobe Bryant had 21 points and 10 assists, and Lamar Odom had 20 points and 10 rebounds.

Brook Lopez scored 11 of his 20 points in a big third quarter, Sasha Vujacic added 15, and Devin Harris had 14 points and eight assists to help New Jersey win for only the second time in 13 games.

BUCKS 100, WIZARDS 87: Keyon Dooling scored a season-high 23 points, Corey Maggette added 21 and Milwaukee dropped Washington to 0-20 on the road.
The Wizards had ample opportunities to open a big lead against the short-handed Bucks early, but squandered a 12-point lead in a matter of seven minutes in the first half. The Bucks began hitting shots despite missing starters Brandon Jennings (left foot), Carlos Delfino (concussion) and John Salmons (right hip).
HORNETS 103, GRIZZLIES 102: Marcus Thornton broke up an inbounds pass with 14 seconds left in overtime, then finished a fast break with a reverse layup, lifting New Orleans at home to its sixth straight victory.
Chris Paul had 20 points and 12 assists, and picked up the critical loose ball that was tipped by both Thornton and Trevor Ariza. Paul then raced upcourt and passed to Emeka Okafor, who bounced a pass to Thornton under the hoop.
NUGGETS 112, THUNDER 107: Carmelo Anthony scored 35 points as Denver earned a victory at home.
