PLYMOUTH, N.H. – Kaylie DeMillo became the 19th player in the history of the University of Southern Maine women’s basketball program to reach 1,000 career points, scoring 14 Wednesday night to help the Huskies to a 76-62 victory over Plymouth State.

DeMillo, who also had seven rebounds, four assists and four steals, has 1,003 points.

Becky Dixon had 17 points and nine rebounds for the Huskies (10-6, 5-1 Little East), who used a 21-7 run over a six-minute span of the second half to take a 67-46 lead with just over nine minutes remaining.

Alicia Doucet had 26 points and 11 rebounds for the Panthers (7-8, 1-5).

 

UNE 64, EASTERN NAZARENE 29: Margo Russell had 14 points and Carrie Bunnell and Kelley Paradis each scored 11 as the Nor’easters (10-6, 3-1 Commonwealth Coast) defeated the Lions (2-13, 1-3) at Biddeford.

The Nor’easters scored the first 13 points, led 33-6 with 5:13 left in the first half and pulled into halftime with a 37-13 lead.

 

BATES 65, ST. JOSEPH’S 52: Allie Beaulieu scored 20 points and the Bobcats (13-4) used a 20-1 run in the first half to pull away from the Monks (10-6) at Standish.

Trailing 12-6 with 11:54 left in the half, the Bobcats turned the deficit into a 26-13 halftime lead. Bates forced 11 turnovers and the Monks went 0 for 12 from the field during the run.

Abby Young had 14 points for the Monks.

(7) XAVIER 76, ST. BONAVENTURE 56: Amber Harris had 20 points and 12 rebounds in her 10th double-double of the season, leading Xavier (15-2, 4-0 Atlantic 10) past St. Bonaventure (12-7, 2-2) at Cincinnati.

(9) WEST VIRGINIA 78, MARSHALL 21: Ayana Dunning scored 16 points and West Virginia (18-1) limited Marshall (5-12) to the fewest points in school history in a victory at Charleston, W.Va.

 

(14) OKLAHOMA 71, TEXAS TECH 61: Aaryn Ellenberg scored 24 points and hit four 3-pointers to lead a second-half charge as Oklahoma (14-3, 4-0 Big 12) beat visiting Texas Tech (16-2, 3-1).

MEN’S BASKETBALL

PLYMOUTH STATE 77, USM 60: Ian Dempsey scored 20 points as the Panthers (7-8, 2-4 Little East) beat the Huskies (9-7, 1-5) at Plymouth, N.H.

Otis Smith had 15 points and seven rebounds for USM. Sean Bergeron added 13 points and Alex Kee scored 10.

BATES 65, ST. JOSEPH’S 50: The Bobcats (9-8) jumped to a 12-2 lead and defeated the Monks (10-5) at Standish.

John Squires paced Bates with 13 points and eight rebounds.

Chris Petzy scored 17 points for St. Joseph’s and Zach O’Brien added 16.

 

EASTERN NAZARENE 80, UNE 73: Aaron Johnson scored 22 points and the Lions (6-9, 2-2 Commonwealth Coast) shot 55.6 percent from the floor in the first half to beat the Nor’easters (2-14, 0-4) at Biddeford.

Charles Fenner scored 25 for UNE.

(1) OHIO STATE 70, IOWA 48: David Lighty scored 18 points and Ohio State (19-0, 6-0 Big Ten) rolled past Iowa (7-11, 0-6) at Columbus, Ohio.

William Buford had 15 points and Jared Sullinger added 13 for the Buckeyes.

 

(4) DUKE 92, N.C. STATE 78: Nolan Smith scored 22 points to help Duke (17-1, 4-1 ACC) beat N.C. State (11-7, 1-3) at Raleigh, N.C.

Kyle Singler added 18 points for the Blue Devils, who dominated early to lead by 14 at halftime.

(14) PURDUE 63, PENN STATE 62: JaJuan Johnson’s jumper with 3 seconds left gave Purdue (16-3, 5-1 Big Ten) a victory over Penn State (10-8, 3-4) at West Lafayette, Ind.

 

(16) NOTRE DAME 66, (25) CINCINNATI 58: Tyrone Nash and Ben Hansbrough led five scorers in double figures with 13 points each, helping Notre Dame (15-4, 4-3 Big East) get past Cincinnati (16-3, 3-3) at South Bend, Ind.

(19) LOUISVILLE 88, ST. JOHN’S 63: Preston Knowles scored 25 points and Kyle Kuric added 20 as Louisville (15-3, 4-1 Big East) beat St. John’s (11-6, 4-3) at Louisville, Ky.

 

MARSHALL 75, (21) WEST VIRGINIA 71: Damier Pitts tied a career high with 25 points and Marshall (13-5) nearly blew a 24-point lead before holding off West Virginia (12-5) at Charleston, W.Va.
