Hyde School, Bath: Sagel Prosser of Portland has received the Most Valuable Learner-Music award.

Thornton Academy, Saco: Hattie Simon, a freshman, and Olivia Bean, a junior, have been accepted to participate in the All-State Jazz Choir at the All-State Jazz Festival.

Freeport Middle School: Three students were among the top Maine scorers in the recent American Mathematics Competition. The second-highest score in Maine was achieved by eighth-grader Conner Cameron, and seventh-grader Kyle Rosado tied for third place. Their scores rank them in the top 5 percent in the country.

Willson Moore had the second-highest score in Maine by a sixth-grader, and he ranked in the top 40 percent in the country. All three students have been invited to participate in the AMC10 competition in February.
