THE OGUNQUIT MUSEUM of American Art is closed for the season, but museum director Ron Crusan has arranged an off-season exhibition of key paintings from the collection.
ON FRIDAY, Bates College Museum of Art in Lewiston will open “Selections from the Collection of the Ogunquit Museum of American Art.” It includes important paintings by Will Barnet, Marsden Hartley, John Marin, Marguerite Zorach and other Maine-associated artists.
THE SHOW IS ONE of three new exhibitions opening at Bates. Others are “Bound to Art: Illustrated Books from the Edmund S. Muskie Archives and Special Collections Library” and “Dialogue, A Video Series,” featuring artists from Amsterdam, Boston and New York.
