WESTBROOK – Westbrook police have declared a snow emergency parking ban on all city streets due to today’s storm.
The parking ban takes effect at 9 p.m. and continues through 7 a.m. Thursday.
The forecast currently calls for heavy snow through late this afternoon, ending sometime this evening. Police said Westbrook public services crews would be working throughout the day and overnight to clean up city streets.
Cars parked on city streets during the ban will be ticketed and, in most cases, towed. Police advise making arrangements to park vehicles off the street to help ensure the safety of plow crews and drivers.
The following parking lots are available for overnight parking: Mechanic Street lot (behind CVS), Church Street lot (at Warren Congregational Church), Dun Street American Legion lot, Ash Street lot, the Warren ball field lot on Stevens Avenue, Bicentennial Park/Ramp Park lot, Warren outdoor pool lot, Lincoln Street skating rink lot and Walker Memorial Library lot.
Check signage for restrictions.
