WINDHAM — Meghan Gribbin scored seven of her 21 points in overtime as Windham survived Portland’s challenge for a 66-64 victory Tuesday night in an SMAA schoolgirl basketball game.
Windham (6-2) trailed by nine with 1:30 left in regulation, but Bebe Butts made two 3-pointers and the Eagles forced overtime when Diandra Berthiaume put back an intentionally missed free throw by Gribbin at the buzzer.
Olivia Hurd had 15 points and Berthiaume finished with 11.
Nicolette Kapothanasis had 26 points and Rebecca Smith added 18 for the Bulldogs (1-6).
WAYNFLETE 55, TRAIP ACADEMY 47: Martha Veroneau had seven 3-pointers and 22 points to lead Waynflete (6-2) over the Rangers (6-3) at Kittery.
Liz Lewis added 12 points for Waynflete and Lydia Stegemann scored 11.
Selena Lorrey scored 14 points for Traip and Sarah Orr added 12.
FREEPORT 43, OLD ORCHARD BEACH 38: Katie Poulin had 18 points and the Falcons (1-7) were 17 of 22 (77 percent) from the free-throw line, including 10 of 12 in the fourth quarter, to beat the Seagulls (3-6) at Old Orchard Beach.
Gillian Foss scored 10 for the Seagulls, who were just 9 of 27 (33 percent) from the foul line.
MCAULEY 48, BONNY EAGLE 33: Rebecca Knight scored eight points during a 17-8 second-period run that gave the Lions (7-0) a 27-19 halftime lead over Bonny Eagle (4-4) in Portland.
Knight finished with 16 points and 14 rebounds. Alexa Coulombe scored 10 for McAuley.
Sarah Assante had 12 points for the Scots.
YORK 74, FRYEBURG ACADEMY 22: Nicole Taylor had eight points and Stephanie Gallagher scored seven to fuel a game-opening 23-4 run as the Wildcats (9-0) raced past the Raiders (3-5) at York.
Taylor finished with 17 points and Gallagher had 12 as all 11 York players scored at least four points.
GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 36, YARMOUTH 17: Maggie Chaplin, Rachel Edson and Alicia Valente each scored nine points to lead the Patriots (4-4) past the Clippers (1-7) at Gray.
The Patriots held Yarmouth scoreless in the second quarter while building a 22-8 halftime lead. Olivia Smith had nine points for the Clippers.
DEERING 62, KENNEBUNK 16: Kayla Burchill scored all of her 13 points in the first half as Deering (8-0) raced out to a 42-4 lead and defeated Kennebunk (0-6) at Portland.
Jen Davis scored 10 for Kennebunk.
SANFORD 61, NOBLE 38: Taylor Flood had 23 points and six steals, leading the Redskins (5-2) over the Knights (2-6) at Sanford.
Megan Pelkey scored 13 points for Noble.
MARSHWOOD 49, MASSABESIC 46: The Hawks (3-5) took a 47-46 lead on two free throws by Aubrey Folger with less than a minute to play and held off the Mustangs (3-4) at South Berwick.
Jorden Mitchell added two free throws in the closing seconds to seal the win.
Nicole Lachance led Marshwood with 13 points and Folger scored 12.
Emily Schatz had 13 for the Mustangs, Christina Fetter scored 12 and Morgan Reny added 11.
WESTBROOK 39, BIDDEFORD 35: Ciera Bellino scored eight of her 13 points in the fourth quarter to help the Blue Blazes (3-4) hold off the Tigers (1-6) at Biddeford.
Biddeford was led by Keila Grigware, who finished with 17 points, 11 rebounds and four assists and moved four points away from her 1,000th career point.
CHEVERUS 66, THORNTON ACADEMY 32: Morgan Cahill scored all 17 of her team-high 17 points in the first half as Cheverus (7-1) beat visiting Thornton Academy (1-6).
Cahill also had five blocked shots and eight rebounds for the Stags, who took control early and led 43-14 by halftime. Alexandra Palazzi-Leahy added 11 points and Britni Mikulanecz scored 10.
Meghan Agger paced Thornton Academy with 16 points.
SOUTH PORTLAND 54, SCARBOROUGH 44: Abby Hasson and Danica Gleason each scored 12 points in the second half and the Red Riots (5-3) rallied from a 30-19 halftime deficit to beat Scarborough (1-7) at South Portland.
Hasson scored seven points and Gleason made two 3-pointers as the Riots outscored Scarborough 20-8 in the third period to take a 39-30 lead before pulling away in the fourth period.
LAKE REGION 60, POLAND 35: Tiana-Jo Carter scored eight of her 19 points in the first quarter as the Lakers (7-1) raced out to a 17-3 lead and cruised to the win over the Knights (1-7) at Poland.
Regina Maheux paced Poland with 15 points and six steals.
GREELY 39, WELLS 29: Megan Coale made three of her four 3-pointers in the second half and finished with 16 points to lead the Rangers (8-1) to a win over the Warriors (2-6) at Wells.
Kelsey Bragdon had 14 points for Wells.
CONY 43, BRUNSWICK 41: Melanie Guzman scored the only basket in overtime as the Rams (5-4) beat the Dragons (5-4) at Augusta.
Cony led 33-22 late in the third quarter, but Emily Bryant and Tiana Burton helped Brunswick rally to tie the game.
Guzman had 16 points and seven rebounds. Josie Lee grabbed 11 rebounds and added four assists.
Bryant scored 19 for Brunswick.
MEDOMAK VALLEY 61, WATERVILLE 18: Lindsey Ranquist scored 18 points and Mallory Conary added 10 to lead Medomak Valley (10-0) to a victory at Waterville (1-8).
Nicole Weaver added eight points for Medomak, which forced 34 turnovers.
Emily Karter led Waterville with 10 points.
EDWARD LITTLE 43, MT. ARARAT 38: Kory Norcross scored 16 points to lead the Red Eddies (8-1) past the Eagles (4-5) at Auburn.
Katherine Sawyer added 13 points for Edward Little.
Kristie Willey led Mt. Ararat with nine points.
MARANACOOK 41, ROCKLAND 38: Kristina Kelly hit two free throws and a jumper in the final minute to lift the Black Bears (3-7) over the Tigers (0-10) at Readfield.
Casey Carroll scored 10 for Rockland.
