AUGUSTA — Maine heating oil prices continue to rise.

Energy officials say a weekly survey found the average price to be $3.10 a gallon today, up three cents from last week.

State Energy Director John Kerry says residential heating oil prices continue to go up with the coldest temperatures of the winter likely ahead and a storm in the forecast for the Northeast later this week.

Around the state, western and southwest Maine had the lowest price of $2.90 per gallon while the highest price of $3.25 a gallon was found in central, eastern and northern parts of the state.
