PORTLAND – Martha Veroneau scored 18 of her 25 points in the second half Saturday as Waynflete pulled away to a 56-48 victory against Calais in a schoolgirl basketball game.

Lydia Stegemann added 21 points and 12 rebounds for the Flyers (5-2), who trailed 18-10 after the first quarter before rallying to a 26-26 halftime tie.

Page Gillespie and Allyson Hill combined for 33 points for Calais (3-3).

MEDOMAK VALLEY 67, MAINE CENTRAL INSTITUTE 32: Lindsay Ranquist finished with 14 points and six steals, and Ericka Christensen scored 12 points to lead the Panthers (9-0) past the Huskies (2-6) at Waldoboro.

Alanna Vose added seven points and nine assists, and Mallory Conary scored 10 points for Medomak.

Kylee Alton led MCI with 11 points.

OAK HILL 49, MT. VIEW 29: Maggie Sabine scored 12 of her 17 points in the fourth quarter as the Raiders (7-2) used a 19-5 run to pull away from Mt. View (3-6) at Wales.

Gabby Green scored 11 points for Oak Hill and Jess Roberts added nine, all on 3-pointers. Hayleigh Kein led Mt. View with eight points.

TRAIP ACADEMY 77, HEBRON ACADEMY 47: Selena Lorrey scored 24 of her 31 points in the first half as the Rangers (6-2) built a 13-point lead on the way to a win over the Lumberjacks (2-3) at Hebron.

Sarah Orr added 13 points and Alli Barrett had 10 for Traip, which outscored Hebron 28-8 in the third quarter.

Janelle Bradish scored 28 points for Hebron.

GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 41, WELLS 28: Maggie Chaplin scored six of her 10 points in the third quarter as the Patriots (3-4) pulled away after a halftime tie against the Warriors (2-5) at Wells.

Haylee Cote made three 3-pointers and finished with 13 points to pace the Patriots. Alicia Valente finished with 12 points.

Wells was led by Kelsey Bragdon with 10 points.

WINSLOW 45, GARDINER 36: Elizabeth Ferry finished with 17 points to lead the Black Raiders (7-1) past the Tigers (4-5) at Gardiner.

Mariah Chenard added eight points for Winslow.

Katie McAllister scored 10 points to lead Gardiner. Kylee Granholm chipped in with eight.

VALLEY 42, HYDE 20: Cindy Schultz scored 19 points and dished out seven assists to lead the Cavaliers (7-1) over Hyde (1-3) at Bingham.

Hali MacQuilken added four points and nine rebounds, and Ashley Hines chipped in with 10 points for Valley.

Sage Harris led Hyde with 15 points.

GREENVILLE 38, RANGELEY 32: Chantal Carrier scored 14 points, but it wasn’t enough as Rangeley (6-2) lost to visiting Greenville (3-3).

Greenville took advantage of turnovers to outscore Rangeley 12-3 in the third quarter and build a lead it didn’t relinquish. Gretel Breton led Greenville with 22 points.

HAMPDEN ACADEMY 59, MT. BLUE 32: The Broncos (7-1) led 32-11 at the half on the way to beating Mt. Blue (2-5) at Farmington.

Jillian Perron led Mt. Blue with nine points.

SEACOAST CHRISTIAN 50, ISLESBORO 20: Ruth Towne had 12 points, nine rebounds and seven assists to lead the Guardians (4-2) past the Eagles (1-6) at South Berwick.

Amberlee Bennett also scored 12 points for Seacoast Christian, which led 22-4 after one quarter.

Autumn Johnson had 10 points for Islesboro.

HOCKEY

SCARBOROUGH 3, CHEVERUS 0: Abby Rutt scored in each period as the Red Storm (7-3) shut out the Stags (7-4) at Portland.

Devan Kane made 21 saves for Scarborough. Taylor Witham of Cheverus stopped 25 shots.

GREELY 2, YORK 1: Etta Copenhagen scored with 30 seconds left as the Rangers (7-2) beat the Wildcats (7-3) at Falmouth.

Casey Benner assisted Copenhagen on the winner. CeCi Hodgkins scored the first goal for Greely.

Macki Hill had the opener for York.

FALMOUTH 3, PORTLAND 1: Abby Payson tied it midway through the second period and Lucy Meyer added the winner just over six minutes later as the Yachtsmen (4-6) rallied past the Bulldogs (4-4-1) at Portland.

Gabby St. Angelo made it 3-1 after 54 seconds of the third period and also had an assist for Falmouth.

Raechel Allen of Portland opened the scoring after 6:31.
