YORK – York held Yarmouth to four points in the final period Friday night and pulled away to a 51-41 victory in a Western Maine Conference schoolboy basketball game.

Aaron Todd made nine foul shots and finished with 15 points for the Wildcats (6-2), who led 38-37 after three quarters.

Luke Pierce scored 16 points and Josh Britten added 10 for the Clippers (5-2).

WESTBROOK 34, PORTLAND 32: Trevor Bates scored 10 points for the Blue Blazes (5-1), who took a 20-14 halftime lead and held off the Bulldogs (2-4) at Portland.

Westbrook shot 7 of 10 from the line.

Mike Herrick had 10 points for Portland, which was 5 of 13 from the line.

GREELY 54, FRYEBURG ACADEMY 34: Sam Johnston had 13 points, nine in the second quarter as the Rangers (7-1) took a 31-16 halftime lead against the Raiders (1-6) at Cumberland.

Jake Levite helped with 11 points, and Michael McDevitt added eight points and 10 rebounds.

Bright Amoako led Fryeburg with 10 points.

SOUTH PORTLAND 63, NOBLE 50: Vukasin Vignjvic scored 21 points to help the Red Riots (4-1) get by the Knights (1-6) at South Portland.

Noble knocked down five 3-pointers in the first quarter en route to a 19-14 lead, but South Portland opened the second quarter with an 11-0 run and led the rest of the way.

Logan Gaddar added 11 points for the Red Riots. Jordan Muller had 10.

Mitch Edmunds had 19 points and Brady Dodge added 15 for the Knights.

CAPE ELIZABETH 67, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 41: Theo Bowe scored 25 points and the Capers (6-1) forced 27 turnovers to beat Gray-New Gloucester (4-3) at Cape Elizabeth.

Cam Brown added 10 points for the Capers, who led 38-16 at halftime.

Adam Jensen led the Patriots with 14 points.

WAYNFLETE 73, GOULD ACADEMY 33: Waynflete (4-3) led 23-21 at halftime, then used a 50-12 advantage in the second half to defeat the Huskies (1-2) at Bethel.

Joe Veroneau led the Flyers with 17 points, Jack Cutler scored 13, Alex Hadiaris added 12, and Max Belleau and Abshir Horor had 11 each.

SCARBOROUGH 59, BIDDEFORD 44: Zach Bean scored 10 of his 29 points in the third quarter to help the Red Storm (6-1) pull away from the Tigers (2-5) at Biddeford.

Mike Wofford added 11 points for Scarborough, including three 3-pointers.

Mike Lachance led the Tigers with 14 points.

POLAND 51, FALMOUTH 50: Drew Peterson knocked down the winning free throw with six-10ths of a second left, capping a 6-0 run in the final minute as Poland (3-4) surprised the Yachtsmen (4-3) at Falmouth.

Jake Littlefield led the Knights with 22 points and made the tying basket after Logan Nichols started the run with a 3-pointer.

Matt Packard scored 20 points for the Yachtsmen. Mike Lafond added 10.

WELLS 63, TRAIP ACADEMY 57: Alex Furness scored 23 points as the Warriors (4-3) held off the Rangers (3-5) at Wells.

Zach Deshaies added 12 points.

Alex Gamester and Nathan Westman combined for 29 points for Traip.

BONNY EAGLE 56, MARSHWOOD 52: Cole Libby, who finished with 18 points, hit four free throws in the final two seconds to lift the Scots (5-1) over the Hawks (4-2) at Standish.

Dustin Cole added 15 points, six rebounds and five assists for Bonny Eagle. Steve Simonds chipped in 13 points, and Jeff Amell had six points and 12 rebounds.

Addison Casey scored 18 points for the Hawks, who led 33-28 at halftime.

CHEVERUS 80, MASSABESIC 27: Shawn Grover and Malcolm Smith each scored 13 points for the Stags (6-0), who powered to a 45-8 halftime lead and defeated the Mustangs (0-6) at Portland.

Louie DiStasio and Matt Cimino added 10 points each for the Stags.

Josh Langevin and Chris Gahm scored nine apiece for Massabesic.

GORHAM 50, KENNEBUNK 38: Carter Bowers scored seven of his 20 points in overtime as Gorham (1-5) used a 14-2 run to down visiting Kennebunk (1-5).

Kyle Neeley added 11 points and 20 rebounds for Gorham.

Van Brazz scored 12 points for Kennebunk, which used an 11-7 fourth-quarter run to send it to overtime. Matt Dube added 10 points, including the tying basket.

LAKE REGION 72, FREEPORT 46: Danny Place scored 36 points as Lake Region (2-5) rolled past Freeport (0-7) at Naples.

Place had three 3-pointers and 11 points in the first quarter as the Lakers opened a 20-8 lead. Alex Hartford finished with 15 points and 17 rebounds, and Kevin Gilson provided seven points and eight assists.

BRUNSWICK 58, ERSKINE ACADEMY 36: Mitchell Black had 23 points and seven assists to lead the Dragons (4-3) past the Eagles (1-7) at South China.

Konnor Scarponi added 10 points, and Garrett Erb had seven points and six rebounds for Brunswick, which led 30-16 at the half.

OLD ORCHARD BEACH 43, NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 30: Andrew Fleury scored 12 points and Ryan Gallant added 11 to lift the Seagulls (6-1) over the Panthers (2-4) at Yarmouth.

Leading 20-19 at halftime, Old Orchard pulled away in the third quarter, outscoring NYA 11-4 for a 31-23 advantage.

Eli Leavitt scored nine points on three 3-pointers to lead the Panthers.

FOREST HILLS 42, RICHMOND 37: Raymond Petrin hit two foul shots late in the fourth quarter to give Forest Hills the lead and the Tigers (6-2) held off Richmond (5-1) at Jackman.

Forest Hills beat the Bobcats for the first time since a 78-63 victory on Jan. 13, 2001.

Richmond led by one point with 1:01 left before Petrin gave Forest Hills the lead. Evan Worster and Joey Gilbert each added a foul shot for the Tigers.

Worster finished with 17 points and Dylan McNally added 14 for Forest Hills. Joey Gilbert grabbed 12 rebounds and the Tigers were 10 of 15 from the foul line in the fourth quarter.

Tom Carter had 17 points for Richmond.

CONY 55, OXFORD HILLS 49: Walker Cooper had 15 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Rams (5-3) past Oxford Hills (2-6) at Augusta.

Robert Foss added 12 points and Anthony Roberts 11 for Cony. Matt McVety scored nine points for the Vikings.

HOCKEY

LAKE REGION-FRYEBURG ACADEMY 3, LEAVITT 2: Mike LeGoff scored at 12:22 of the third period to lift Lake Region-Fryeburg Academy (2-4) over Leavitt (3-4) at Bridgton.

Leavitt took a 2-0 lead on goals by Nick Labbe and Jacob Gladu. Cameron Arnold made it 2-1 at 11:34 of the second period, then Don Kellough tied it unassisted at 3:20 of the third.
