PORTLAND — Morgan Cahill hit two foul shots with three seconds left to give Cheverus a four-point lead and the Stags held on to beat Windham 55-54 Tuesday night in an SMAA schoolgirl basketball game.
Cahill finished with 15 points, Britni Mikulanecz scored 14 and Alexandra Palazzi-Leahy added 12 for the Stags (5-1), who led by 10 points entering the fourth quarter.
Meghan Gribbin made four 3-pointers and finished with 22 points for the Eagles (4-2). Sam Frost added 12 points and Stephanie Frost scored 11.
OLD ORCHARD BEACH 34, WAYNFLETE 33: Kelsey Koenigs made two free throws with 20 seconds remaining to give the Seagulls (1-5) a victory over the visiting the Flyers (4-2).
Olivia Dubois blocked a shot just before the final buzzer to preserve the win.
Julia Fregeau scored six of her eight points in the second half for OOB, and Gillian Foss pulled down a game-high 12 rebounds.
Lydia Stegemann scored 16 points for Waynflete.
SOUTH PORTLAND 48, MARSHWOOD 42: Abby Hasson made 8 of 10 free-throw attempts in the fourth quarter to lead the Red Riots (3-3) over the Hawks (2-4) at South Portland.
Hasson finished with 16 points; Brianne Maloney added nine points, including a 3-pointer for the Red Riots’ only field goal in the fourth quarter.
Jorden Mitchell led Marshwood with 11 points.
SCARBOROUGH 54, WESTBROOK 33: Marisa O’Toole scored 13 points and Courtney Alofs collected 11 rebounds to lead the Red Storm (1-5) past Westbrook (1-4) at Scarborough.
Brittany Bona added 10 points, seven rebounds and five blocked shots and Taylor LaBorgne had four steals for Scarborough.
Katelyn Benson had nine points for Westbrook.
BONNY EAGLE 51, KENNEBUNK 33: Alicia Hoyt had 11 points and Nicole Taylor scored 10, leading Bonny Eagle (3-3) to a win over Kennebunk (0-4) at Standish.
The Scots made 14 steals and kept the Rams off balance with their pressing defense.
SANFORD 50, THORNTON ACADEMY 28: Shae Riley scored 13 points and Taylor Flood added 10 as Sanford (4-1) downed Thornton Academy (1-4) at Saco.
Sanford led 22-18 at halftime, then pulled away in the second half with strong inside play.
LAKE REGION 40, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 29: Abby Craffey sank three 3-pointers as the Lakers (5-1) outscored the Patriots 24-13 in the middle periods to build a 30-19 lead at Naples.
Craffey finished with 11 points and Hannah Cutting scored 13 for Lake Region.
Haylee Cote had 13 points for the Patriots (2-3).
WELLS 51, FREEPORT 37: Abby Moody and Kelsey Bragdon scored 17 points apiece to lead Wells (2-3) to a win at Freeport (0-6).
Moody and Jeni Wallingford hit 3-pointers early in the third quarter, sparking a 16-7 run that gave the Warriors a 39-28 lead.
Leigh Wyman had 13 points for the Falcons. Morgan Brown added six points, 11 rebounds and four blocks.
NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 43, SACOPEE VALLEY 37: Charlotte Esancy scored the tying and winning baskets on offensive rebounds and the Panthers (3-3) made four foul shots down the stretch to hold off the Hawks (2-3) at South Hiram.
Eliza Gendron and Blair Haggett scored 11 points apiece for the Panthers, who hit 8 of 10 foul shots in the fourth quarter.
Amanda Villineau made three 3-pointers and finished with 14 points for Sacopee Valley, and Stephanie Mullins scored 13.
MCAULEY 78, NOBLE 40: Rebecca Knight scored 20 points and Sadie DiPierro made four 3-pointers and finished with 17 points as the Lions (5-0) cruised past the Knights (2-4) at North Berwick.
Allie Clement, Hannah Cooke and Alexa Coulombe added 10 points apiece for McAuley.
Noble was led by Chandler Waterman with nine points.
GORHAM 51, PORTLAND 46: Mia Rapolla went 8 for 8 from the foul line in the fourth quarter and finished with 27 points, and Natalie Egbert added 15 points as the Rams (5-1) held off the Bulldogs (1-4) at Portland.
The Bulldogs were paced by Nicollete Kapothanasis and Rebecca Smith with 14 points apiece.
YORK 66, TRAIP ACADEMY 38: Nicole Taylor had 12 of her 16 points in the first period as York (7-0) raced to a 24-10 lead and defeated the Rangers (4-2) at Kittery.
Stephanie Gallagher led the Wildcats with 17 points, and Emily Campbell and Ruby Cribby each scored 10.
Selena Lorrey led Traip with 15 points.
DEERING 48, BIDDEFORD 37: Kayla Burchill scored 18 points to help the Rams (6-0) get past the Tigers (1-5) at Biddeford.
Deering finished the third quarter with a 9-3 run to take a 31-25 lead. Claire Ramonas scored six of her eight points in the fourth to help the Rams hold off the Tigers.
Keila Grigware scored 17 points for Biddeford.
GEORGES VALLEY 48, BOOTHBAY REGION 45: Jessica Veilla drove for a layup after a steal to break a 43-all tie and the Buccaneers (3-4) held on to beat the Seahawks (2-4) at Thomaston.
Kennadi Grover scored 14 points and Jill Bradbury added 13 for the Buccaneers.
Sarah Caron scored 20 points for Boothbay Region.
FRYEBURG ACADEMY 46, POLAND 20: Maggie McConkey scored 17 points and Skye Dole added 14 to lead the Raiders (3-3) past the Knights (1-5) at Fryeburg.
McConkey and Doyle combined for 24 points in the first half as Fryeburg Academy took a 29-9 lead.
FALMOUTH 56, YARMOUTH 30: Jess DiPhilippo, Jackie Doyle and Jenna Serunian scored 10 points each to lead Falmouth (4-2) to a victory at Yarmouth (1-5).
Serunian scored six in the second quarter as the Yachtsmen used an 18-8 run to take a 34-13 lead.
LISBON 36, WISCASSET 29: Alexa Harmon and Jessica Campbell scored seven points each as the Greyhounds (3-4) opened a 21-11 halftime lead and beat Wiscasset (0-6) at Lisbon.
Harmon finished with 14 points and Campbell scored nine.
Kayla Connors led Wiscasset with 12 points.
MEDOMAK VALLEY 57, MT. VIEW 30: Ericka Christensen had nine points, seven blocks and six rebounds to help the Panthers (7-0) defeat the Mustangs (3-4) at Waldoboro.
MT. ARARAT 45, MESSALONSKEE 27: Mariah Cropley had 10 points to lead Mt. Ararat (3-4) to a victory over Messalonskee (5-3) at Oakland.
Caitlin LaFountain and Amber Bowley scored six each as Mt. Ararat opened a 25-13 halftime lead.
Shelby Cutten led Messalonskee with nine points.
MORSE 52, BANGOR 36: Nikoline Ostergaard had 18 points, 13 rebounds and five steals as the Shipbuilders (8-0) remained unbeaten with a victory over Bangor (4-3) at Bath.
