AUGUSTA — Workers are hanging lights and getting the television cameras ready at the Augusta Civic Center today in advance of Wednesday’s inaugural of Gov.-elect Paul LePage.
The Republican from Waterville will take the oath of office in a ceremony that begins at 11:30 a.m. Inaugural director Brent Littlefield said more than 5,000 people are expected to attend the invitation-only ceremony.
Doors open at 10 a.m. and Littlefield recommended that people come early to get through security. From 7-8:30 p.m., LePage will host a reception at the civic center, which is also by invitation only.
