SACO—After three years of not paying tolls on the Maine Turnpike, Mathieu Bosse was arrested by State Police last week.

Trooper Steven Stubbs arrested the 23-year-old Saco man outside the Ramada Inn in Saco, which is located near the turnpike. Stubbs saw Bosse drive his car off the turnpike and down a walkway leading to the motel. Bosse drove his car between a light fixture and a large rock and had been using this path as an exit for some time to avoid going through the toll booth.

Bosse was charged with driving to endanger and theft. Turnpike authorities said Bosse still owes over $100 in tolls, but owed the Maine Turnpike Authority more before he started paying down his debt.
