A single-car accident on Tenney Hill Road knocked out power to nearby residents for two hours Saturday night.

A northbound 2004 Toyota Matrix collided with a utility pole near Gerrish Island Lane at 10:45 p.m., disrupting power to 224 homes. Central Maine Power restored electrical service at 12:43 a.m. today, according to a CMP spokesman.

Kittery police reported no significant injuries, although the car was badly damaged and required a tow.

The sole occupant, Victor Bing, 18, of Kittery Point, was arrested and charged with operating under the influence.
