LYMAN — A teenager is dead and a second person injured following a collision tonight between a car and pickup truck on the Clarks Woods Road in Lyman.

The York County Sheriff’s Department, which investigated the crash, said 16-year-old Casey Irish of Lyman, was driving his 2005 Nissan Altima along the road when he failed to negotiate a corner.

Irish’s car collided head-on with a 2009 Chevy Silverado pickup truck operated by 40-year-old Dennis Swan of Sanford.

Irish was pronounced dead at the scene. Swan was transported by ambulance to Southern Maine Medical Center in Biddeford with non-life-threatening injuries.

Alcohol was not a factor, authorities said. The cause of the crash, which was reported at 5:10 p.m., remains under investigation.
