SACO — Fire destroyed a house at 18 Boothby Lane this morning, driving four people out of their home.
Firefighters were called to the house for a report of smoke in the bedroom at 2:47 a.m. and encountered heavy fire inside the house, said Capt. Vincent Pelletier.
Firefighters were able to make sure everybody was out and to get the fire under control by about 3:30 a.m. One resident was taken to the hospital though the injuries were not believed to be life-threatening, Pelletier said.
An investigator with the state Fire Marshal’s Office was being called in to help determine the cause of the fire.
