WESTBROOK — A firefighter was placed on unpaid administrative leave last month.

Anthony Cataldi, a part-time call firefighter with the Westbrook Fire and Rescue Department, went on unpaid leave on Sept. 14 after his wife placed a protection from abuse order on him.

The order was filed on Sept. 1 in Portland District Court, then transferred to Biddeford District Court, where it was dismissed on Sept. 3.
Cataldi declined to comment.

Fire Chief Mike Pardue said he will remain on unpaid leave pending an internal investigation. He declined to comment further.
