STANDISH – Alexandra Parese scored from Taylor Matties at 3:20 of the second overtime Wednesday to give Endicott a 2-1 victory against St. Joseph’s in a nonconference field hockey game.
Parese set up Joanne Reid to put Endicott (10-6) ahead in the 19th minute. Kayla Nowell scored for St. Joseph’s (10-4) less than three minutes later.
Taylor Teixeira had eight saves for the Gulls; Meaghan Johnson made seven for the Monks.
PLYMOUTH STATE 3, USM 2: Jackie Morin of Scarborough tipped in a centering pass from Kristina Conroy with 3:45 remaining in overtime to lift the Panthers (9-5, 7-2 Little East) over the Huskies (5-12, 3-6) at Gorham.
Southern Maine took a 2-0 lead on goals by Kailey Bubier and Whitney McDaniel.
Lauren Bergeron pulled Plymouth State within one and Conroy evened it with 7:45 to play in regulation.
COLBY 1, UNE 0: Meryl Poulin scored 11 minutes into the second half and Liz Fontaine made eight saves as the Mules (5-7) clipped the Nor’easters (9-5) at Biddeford.
Ayla Nelson stopped seven shots for UNE.
BOWDOIN 4, HUSSON 0: Katie Herter scored twice and Kayla Lessard made four saves to help the Polar Bears (12-0) down the Eagles (7-5) at Bangor.
Emily French and Lauren Schroeder also scored.

BATES 3, HUSSON 0: Patrick Jackson had a goal and two assists to pace the Bobcats (4-7-1) against the Eagles (3-12) at Bangor.
Ethan Hirshberg and Ryan March also scored. Brian Goldberg made one save in the shutout.
SUFFOLK 2, ST. JOSEPH’S 1: Ben Rollins snapped a 1-1 tie in the 65th minute as the Rams (8-6-1, 5-2-1 GNAC) edged the Monks (6-8-2, 3-4-1) at Standish.
Tyler Rand scored off a cross from Teddy Palmer to put St. Joseph’s ahead in the 22nd minute. Nick Cugine evened it eight minutes later.
Matt Esposito made four saves for Suffolk. Nick Campasano had eight for St. Joseph’s.
WOMEN’S SOCCER
BRANDEIS 1, BOWDOIN 0: Kelly Peterson headed in a corner from Taryn Martiniello in the 32nd minute and the Judges (11-3-1) edged the Polar Bears (5-5-2) at Waltham, Mass.
Francine Kofinas of Brandeis and Kat Flaherty of Bowdoin made six saves each.
FOOTBALL
FLORIDA: Receiver Chris Rainey, dismissed from the team earlier this season after an arrest for aggravated stalking, could be back on the field next week against Georgia.
NORTH TEXAS: North Texas fired Coach Todd Dodge, declaring its decision to put a high school coach in charge of a Division I program a failure after 31/2 dismal years.
Dodge was let go after a 1-6 start that left him with a record of 6-37.
MICHIGAN STATE and Miami will play a home-and-home football series in the next decade. Michigan State will host the Hurricanes in 2020 and will play the next season at Miami.
NORTH CAROLINA: Cornerback Charles Brown won’t play this season amid the ongoing NCAA investigation into the football program, and cornerback Kendric Burney will miss this weekend’s game at No. 25 Miami.
Brown started all 13 games last season and still has a year of eligibility remaining, though the school didn’t specify why he will sit out the season.
Both he and Burney were among six players declared ineligible “for violating school and/or NCAA rules” before the opener against LSU. Neither has played this season.
CONNECTICUT: Quarterback Cody Endres was suspended for the remainder of the season for an unspecified violation of university policies.
Endres served a monthlong suspension in September for a violation of school rules. After returning, he became the starting quarterback.
SOUTH CAROLINA: Coach Steve Spurrier said backup tailback Kenny Miles will start for the 19th-ranked Gamecocks on Saturday against Vanderbilt in place of the injured freshman Marcus Lattimore.
Lattimore sprained his left ankle early in the second half of South Carolina’s 31-28 loss to Kentucky. The Gamecocks (4-2, 2-2 Southeastern Conference) were ahead 28-10 when Lattimore got hurt.

DUKE, THE defending national champion, is a nearly unanimous choice to win the Atlantic Coast Conference.
