WESTBROOK — Natasha Vayda tied the score late in regulation, then scored during penalty strokes Tuesday to give seventh-seeded Bonny Eagle a 4-3 victory against second-ranked Westbrook in a Western Class A field hockey quarterfinal.
Bonny Eagle (10-5) led 2-0 at the half on a goal by Ashley Roux and Peyton Dostie’s penalty stroke.
But Westbrook (11-4) tied it early in the second half on goals by Ally Lemay and Melissa Pettis, then went ahead 3-2 when Olivia Marsden got her stick on a ball going out of bounds and passed to Lemay with 12:06 left in regulation.
But Vayda made the score 3-3 with 9:26 left, converting a pass from Dostie. After three players missed during penalty strokes, Vayda trickled a shot past Westbrook goalie Maryssa Arsenault to win it.
Rebecca Coney blocked 18 shots for Bonny Eagle. Arsenault stopped 14 shots.
NOKOMIS 2, BELFAST 1: Lindsey Whitney scored after 1:59 of overtime to lift third-seeded Nokomis (12-2) over sixth-ranked Belfast (7-4-3) in an Eastern Class B quarterfinal at Newport.

WESTBROOK 1, BIDDEFORD 0: Vanessa Bradbury scored from 20 yards with seven minutes left as Westbook (4-10) beat the Tigers (2-12) at Biddeford.
Ashley Richards got the shutout with nine saves. Adrienne Bowie stopped eight shots for the Tigers.
BRUNSWICK 5, CONY 0: Allie Walton scored four goals as the Dragons (14-0) shut out Cony (5-7-2) at Brunswick.
Lydia Caputi made three saves for her 12th shutout, and Morgan Libby also scored.
CAPE ELIZABETH 0, YORK 0: Lexi Weatherbie made 11 saves for the Capers (7-5-2) and Carly Lee had five for York (10-1-3) at Cape Elizabeth.
FALMOUTH 3, WAYNFLETE 0: Jessica DiPhilippo scored in each half as the Yachtsmen (8-5-1) downed Waynflete (6-6-1) at Falmouth.
After DiPhilippo scored the only goal of the first half, Rachel Bauer made it 2-0 from Allie Lycan.
GREELY 1, YARMOUTH 0: Kelly Burrell scored from Allie Morrill as Greely (9-3-2) beat Yarmouth (11-2-1) at Cumberland.
Lindsey Arsenault made one save for the victory. Olivia Smith had five saves for the Clippers.
LISBON 2, GEORGES VALLEY 1: Haley Eck scored from Kayla Angelico with 2:26 left as the Greyhounds (10-2-2) stopped the Buccaneers (12-1-1) at Lisbon Falls.
SOUTH PORTLAND 1, MARSHWOOD 0: Jenna Wing’s long shot from the wing found the upper corner 24 minutes into the second half as South Portland (6-7-1) beat the Hawks (5-8-1) at South Berwick.

MCAULEY 2, CHEVERUS 1: Emily Verhoeven dribbled from midfield and drilled a shot from the 18 as McAuley (6-5-3) upset visiting Cheverus (10-2-1) at Portland.
After Sadie Lyons scored for the Stags in the first half, Olivia Crozier tied it 15 minutes after the break with a 25-yard direct kick.
CAMDEN HILLS 3, MEDOMAK VALLEY 2: Jackey Richards scored with 3:38 left to lift Camden Hills (12-2) over Medomak Valley (8-5-1) at Waldoboro.
ERSKINE ACADEMY 0, MT. ARARAT 0: Jessica Southier made 15 saves for Erskine Academy (4-7-4) as Mt. Ararat (9-3-2) held a 19-5 edge in shots at Topsham.
SANFORD 1, NOBLE 0: Katie Fink scored after four minutes as Sanford (11-2-1) held off the Knights (6-7-1) at North Berwick.
Fink, taking a cross from Taylor Littlefield, broke in alone.
NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 4, TRAIP ACADEMY 0: Molly Strabley and Hannah Twombly had a goal and an assist each as the Panthers (4-6-3) shut out Traip Academy (2-12) at Yarmouth.
After NYA took a 3-0 halftime lead on goals by Strabley, Twombly and Chloe Leishman, Blair Haggett added a goal in the 53rd minute. The game was called due to darkness in the 70th minute.
OLD ORCHARD BEACH 2, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 1: Amy Twohig had a goal and an assist as the Seagulls (8-5-1) downed Gray-New Gloucester (4-7-2) at Old Orchard Beach.
Twohig found Kelsey Koenigs with a through pass after 20 minutes for a 1-0 lead, then scored in the second half.
KENNEBUNK 4, PORTLAND 0: Alex Leonardi scored four unassisted goals to lead the Rams (4-9-1) over the Bulldogs (1-13) at Portland.
WINDHAM 3, DEERING 0: Nikki Walton scored two second-half goals as the Eagles (8-4-2) shut out Deering (8-6) at Windham.
