SOMERVILLE — The state Fire Marshal’s Office says an elderly woman died in the fire that swept through her home on Frye Road on Saturday night.

The body of 86-year-old Pauline Danley was found in her second floor bedroom after firefighters from four towns put out the blaze. She lived alone.

The fire was reported at 7:22 p.m. by a neighbor. The house, located on Long Pond was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived at the scene. The blaze drew firefighters from Somerville, Jefferson, Whitefield and Windsor, authorities said.

Three fire marshal investigators say the fire started in Danley’s bedroom, but the exact cause was not determined.
