Sagadahoc Sheriff’s deputies are searching for a man who escaped from authorities despite being handcuffed and escorted by police.
Rayon Wilson, 26, of Bath had just been convicted in Sagadahoc County Superior Court of domestic assault and was being escorted to the Two Bridges Regional Jail when he escaped on foot at 4:10 p.m. Friday the sheriff’s office said in a release.
Police searched for him, even using a police dog to track him, but they lost the trail near the Bath shopping center.
Wilson knows people in the area and may be seeking help from them, police said.
