AUGUSTA — Leaf-peeping season is hitting its peak across much of Maine.
In its weekly fall foliage report, the Maine Department of Conservation says peak color conditions with only moderate leaf drop are being reported across the southern half of the state – from roughly Rangeley in the west to north of Calais in the east.
Rangers are reporting that the northern half of the state is past its peak for foliage colors.
