BIDDEFORD — Michelle Oswald scored in overtime to lift the University of New England to a 4-3 victory over the University of Maine at Farmington in a college field hockey game Tuesday.
Hannah Travella had two goals for the Nor’easters (8-4), and Hattie Laliberte scored twice for the Beavers (8-4).
UNE goalie Ayla Nelson had 14 saves, 12 in the first half.

AMHERST 5, BATES 0: Spencer Noon scored twice as the Jeffs (6-1-3, 2-1-3 NESCAC) beat the Bobcats (3-6-1, 1-4-1) at Lewiston.
Greg Watts had eight saves for Bates.
USM 1, UM-FARMINGTON 1: David Kreps stopped 12 shots to help the Huskies (3-8-2) tie the Beavers (5-4-3) at Farmington.
Jeff Soules scored unassisted for USM.
THOMAS 2, COLBY 1: Michael Hand’s second goal of the game broke a 1-1 tie at Waterville and gave the Terriers (6-4) their first win over the visiting Mules (6-4-1) since 1992.
Andrew Meisel scored for Colby with six minutes remaining.
WOMEN’S SOCCER
BOWDOIN 1, WHEATON 1: Ellery Gould scored for the sixth straight game as Bowdoin (5-3-2) tied Wheaton (11-2-2) at Norton, Mass.
Joy-Marie Fernandes tied the game 12 minutes into the second half.
Bowdoin goalie Kat Flaherty had 10 saves.
FOOTBALL
NOTRE DAME: Kyle Rudolph, a 6-foot-6, 265-pound junior tight end, will have surgery in the next few days after severely injuring his hamstring. His recovery could take six months.
PENN STATE: Safety Nick Sukay is out for the season with a torn pectoral muscle after he got hurt during a tackle on Illinois’ Jack Ramsey on the opening kickoff of last week’s 33-13 loss. Sukay led the team with three interceptions.
BASEBALL
SAN DIEGO STATE: Trevor Gretzky, son of hockey great Wayne Gretzky, has committed to play at San Diego State.
Trevor Gretzky, a first baseman, hit .341 with two home runs and 33 RBI last spring at Westlake Village Oaks Christian High in California.
