‘Ride the Divide’ documentary will make Maine premiere Oct. 19 in Brunswick

The award-winning mountain bike documentary “Ride The Divide” will make its Maine premiere at 7:30 p.m., Oct. 19 at the Frontier Cafe & Cinema in Brunswick.

Maine’s only finisher of the Tour Divide Race, Stephen Gleasner of Appleton, will speak after the film.

“Ride The Divide” is about the world’s toughest mountain bike race. The film chronicles the story of several mountain bike riders who attempted the 2,711-mile race called The Tour Divide, which runs along the Continental Divide in the Rocky Mountains.

The movie was named the Best Adventure Film of the year at the Vail Film Festival. It is about the stories of three of the racers who experienced the big mountains and small towns from Banff, Canada, to a small town at the Mexican border.

Tickets are $11 at the door or $10 in advance at www.imATHLETE.com/events/RidetheDividemovie.
