WATERBORO – Emma Stehli scored in the second overtime to lift Portland to a 2-1 victory over Massabesic in a Southern Maine Activities Association girls’ soccer match Friday afternoon.

Carolyn Allaire scored with an assist from Ceara Pelletier in the first half to give the Mustangs (0-9-1) the lead.

Ashley Frank scored in the second half to tie it up for the Bulldogs (1-10).

 

GORHAM 5, KENNEBUNK 1: Allie Lurvey scored a goal during each half in Kennebunk to help Gorham (8-3) beat Kennebunk (3-7-1).

Megan Cushing, Kylie Perrin and Audrey Adkison also scored for Gorham. Alex Lombardi scored for Kennebunk.

Sarah Perkins made nine saves for Gorham, and Margo LeBlanc six for Kennebunk.

FIELD HOCKEY

CAPE ELIZABETH 2, FALMOUTH 1: Lauren Steidl scored twice for the Capers (7-5-1) in their win over the Yachtsmen (4-9) in Falmouth.

Katherine Hevson scored for Falmouth.

Piper Otterbein had 13 saves for Cape Elizabeth. Kelsey Freedman had nine for Falmouth.

GORHAM 1, PORTLAND 0: Elena Barnes’ penalty stroke slipped past Portland goalie Kathleen Dalbec at 20:40 of the second half, providing all the offense Gorham (8-5) needed to defeat the Bulldogs (5-6) in Portland.

Patty Smith made six saves. Dalbec blocked eight.

 

SANFORD 6, DEERING 1: Caroline L’Heureux scored two goals to pace the Redskins (6-6) against the Rams (0-12-1) at in Portland.

Savina Dong, Lauren Sawyer, Laura Bouchard and Jordan Brasier all scored for the Redskins, who led 4-0 at halftime. Sanford goalie Sarah Stanley made three saves.

Lily Hampton added a late goal for the Rams and Deering keeper Caley Presby finished with 15 stops.

SOUTH PORTLAND 3, BONNY EAGLE 2: Becca Roberts scored the winning goal 4:04 into the second overtime as the Red Riots (6-6) surprised the Scots (9-4) at West Buxton.

South Portland had goals from Felicia Barnham and Jaclyn Salersky. Bonny Eagle battle back with a high hard drive to the left corner from Payton Dostie at 25:02 of the second half. Natasha Vayda tied the match with 8:26 to play with assists from Dostie and Nicole DeMidio.

THORNTON ACADEMY 2, BIDDEFORD 0: Katrina Thibodeau had a goal and an assist as the Trojans (8-3-1) beat the Tigers (3-10) at Saco.

Thibodeau scored unassisted midway through the first half. With 3:48 left in the game, Thibodeau got a ball off the goalie pads and shot toward the left post. Michele Banville redirected the shot into the net for the Trojans’ second goal.

Goalie Tiffany Gagne had 18 saves for the Tigers. Thornton got four saves from goalie Abbey Siulinski and one from defender Nichole Moore.

WESTBROOK 4, WINDHAM 1: Melissa Pettis and Ally Lemay each had a goal and an assist for the Blue Blazes (10-2) against the Eagles (2-9-1) in Windham.

Teammates Sarah Howard and Olivia Marsden also scored in the game while Maryssa Arsenault had eight saves.

Molly McVetty scored for Windham.

 

KENNEBUNK 5, NOBLE 0: Abby Mitta scored a pair of goals and Jenn Davis collected one goal and two assists as the Rams (9-3-1) downed the Knights (2-9-1) at Kennebunk.

Cheyenne Knox and Taylor Radomski added one goal apiece for the Rams, who led 2-0 at halftime.

Noble keeper Bri Hoffman finished with 23 saves.

BOYS’ SOCCER

WAYNFLETE 3, FREEPORT 0: Tucker Geoffrey and Omar Abdille had a goal and an assist each as the Flyers (7-0-2) beat the visiting Falcons (2-9-1).

Kevin Kanakan converted a cross from Paul Runyambo 4:38 into the match to give the Flyers an early lead.

MARANACOOK 3, LINCOLN ACADEMY 0: Sean Daigle scored off a rebound of a free kick by Dakota Duplisse five minutes into the game and Sam Nielsen made three saves as the Black Bears (11-0-1) blanked the Eagles (6-3-2) at Newcastle.

Maranacook extended their lead on a Lincoln Academy own goal five minutes into the second half and John Findlay put the game out of reach when he scored with 10 minutes left.

Tom Masters stopped four shots for Lincoln Academy.

 

MORSE 7, CONY 0: Eric Trautman-Mosher scored 17 seconds into the game to get the Shipbuilders (8-3) off and running in Bath.

Magnus Lilleaas added two left-footed strikes and Max Rawson a header off a corner. Paul Whalen, T.J. Tardif and Kai Whitehead closed out the scoring for Morse.
