Commons facility opens
Coastal Enterprises Inc. recently opened a Market Square Commons facility in Houlton with a dedication ceremony and open house. The 28-unit facility offers affordable rental housing for seniors.

BalanceBPO center opens
Gov. John Baldacci presided over a grand opening celebration welcoming BalanceBPO’s center of operations to Presque Isle. The Texas-based teleservice company, along with TXVia, will jointly occupy the former MBNA building.
Each company anticipates hiring 100 employees over the next year. BalanceBPO has begun the process to become Pine Tree Zone certified.
Alpha Video store opens
Alpha Williams Jr. of Alpha Video LLC has opened the video rental store Alpha Video at 46 Bangor St. in Augusta.
The site formerly was occupied by the Movie Gallery, which closed earlier this year after filing for bankruptcy.
The video rental store employs five workers, two of them former Movie Gallery employees.
Ribbon cutting opens farm
Sanford /Springvale Chamber of Commerce Ambassador representatives participated in a ribbon-cutting ceremony for Belgian Meadows Farm in Lebanon.
The working farm, owned and operated by Steve Collins, serves as a venue for events such as weddings, birthdays and gatherings. The farm also offers horse-drawn sleigh, hay and wagon rides and a pick-your-own pumpkin patch.

Bank opens store branch
Camden National Bank, the largest independent publicly traded bank headquartered in Maine, has opened a full-service branch inside the Hannaford Supermarket at the Long Bank Shopping Center in Kennebunk.
The branch offers full retail services including checking accounts, mortgages and small business loans. It is open daily with expanded business hours.
