FALMOUTH – Nick Breed scored two goals in the second half as Cape Elizabeth earned a 2-1 win over Falmouth in a Western Maine Conference boys’ soccer match Thursday night.
Breed’s first goal came after a corner kick by Alex Diaz. Sam White answered for Falmouth (7-3-1) with an unassisted goal, but Breed broke the tie with 8:35 remaining after Tim Takach tapped the ball to Breed during a scramble in front of the goal.
Brett Parker of Cape Elizabeth (8-1-2) and Ben Goffin of Falmouth each had five saves.
KENNEBUNK 2, GORHAM 0: Taylor Jewett finished a cross from Harrison Hall 17 minutes into the second half to break a scoreless deadlock as Kennebunk (6-4-1) beat Gorham (8-3) at Kennebunk.
Bobby Kramer added a second goal six minutes later, also set up by Hall.
Christian Elkington made two saves for the shutout. Gorham keeper Carter Bowers stopped three shots.
CHEVERUS 2, WEST-BROOK 0: Elliot Maker scored unassisted in the 25th minute, and Nick Melville added a goal midway through the second half as the Stags (7-3-1) beat the Blue Blazes (4-6-1) at Westbrook.
Peter Potthoff made six saves for Cheverus. Westbrook goalies Austin Watts and Austin Blake combined for three saves.
SOUTH PORTLAND 2, THORNTON ACADEMY 1: Damjon Draskovic scored both goals for the Red Riots (9-2) in their win over the Golden Trojans (1-9-1) at South Portland.
Mike Haines scored for Thornton Academy in the second half, and Chris Roberts made nine saves. Shawn Shannon of South Portland had four saves.
BONNY EAGLE 3, DEERING 1: Matt McClure scored the go-ahead goal 7:35 into the second half as the Scots (5-4-2) downed the Rams (3-7-1) at Standish.
Jon Thomas and Ryan Jordan also scored for the Scots, and keeper Jared Duggan made four saves.
Brandon Saucier notched Deering’s goal.
SANFORD 2, NOBLE 1: Andrew Guillemette scored with 1:07 remaining to lift the Red-skins (4-6-1) over the Knights (2-8-1) at Sanford.
Guillemette’s goal came on the rebound of his penalty kick after a handball in the box.
Seth Noonkester tied the game late in the first half, after Jacob Emard gave Noble an early lead.
PORTLAND 7, MASSABESIC 1: Fazal Nabi scored four times for the Bulldogs (9-1-1) against the Mustangs (1-9) in the second annual Breast Cancer Awareness Game, at Portland.
Paley Burlin, Tim Rovnak and Allen Tuyishime also scored for Portland. Brandon Pfeif-fer had a second-half goal for Massabesic.
MARSHWOOD 5, BIDDEFORD 1: Elijah Ober, Troy Osborne, Steve Smith, Tyler Hickey and Bryan Rawski scored as the Mustangs (8-2-1) defeated the Tigers (0-11) at Biddeford.
Kevin Kennealy had the only goal for Biddeford.
Andrew Rollins made three saves for the win. Connor Morrison of Biddeford finished with seven saves.
SCARBOROUGH 2, WINDHAM 0: Andrew Jones had a goal and an assist for the Red Storm (9-2) in their win at home over the Warriors (6-4-1).
Brett Leighton scored an insurance goal after Jones broke a scoreless tie earlier in the second half.
Scarborough keeper Peter Moore made three saves, including one on a penalty kick. Ben Noble had eight saves for Windham.
FRYEBURG ACADEMY 3, NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 2: Milos Mugakavic scored all three goals for the Raiders (5-6) in a win over the Panthers (3-6) at Yarmouth.
Fabian Schoner assisted Mugakavic on the first goal.
Ryan Rousseau and Michael Ianno each had a goal for NYA.
GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 6, POLAND 0: Jack Martell had two goals as the Patriots (7-5) cruised past the Knights (4-7) at Poland.
Paul Fotter, Craig Moreau, Zach Knapp and Jean Sedjro also scored.
Poland keeper Dillon Douglass made five saves. Gray-New Gloucester goalie Ryan Cavallaro needed five saves for the shutout.
GEORGES VALLEY 3, WINTHROP 0: Lavente Demeter scored a pair of goals and Kyle Robinson added another to lead the Buccaneers (4-7) to a win over the Ramblers (2-8) at Winthrop.
MONMOUTH ACADEMY 1, LISBON 1: Kyle Fletcher scored with 6:39 left in regulation to help Monmouth earn a draw Lisbon Falls.
Brady Fenderson scored a first-half goal for Lisbon (5-5-1).
Robby Neal and Devin West combined to stop 20 shots for Monmouth (5-4-1).
