About 2,000 customer accounts in Lebanon, Acton and Shapleigh are without power as a result of strong winds hitting the area, utility officials said.

“Our weather guys are watching this and we’re keeping an eye out for it,“ said Central Maine Power Co. spokeswoman Gail Rice.

Forecasters with the National Weather Service in Gray are anticipating heavy rain and winds this afternoon with Maine’s midcoast getting the heaviest downpours. Conditions should improve this evening and on Thursday.
