PORTLAND — All it takes is one shot. The Deering boys’ soccer team proved that Tuesday as it knocked in an early goal then held off Scarborough to pull off a 1-0 upset win.

Charlie Dupee scored 7:56 into the game and the Rams (3-6-1) kept the Red Storm (8-2) scoreless. Deering’s Billy Farrell sent a through ball to Dupee who sent a low shot inside the far post.

Deering goalkeeper Jamie Gullbrand seven saves for the shutout. Peter Moore stopped three shots for Scarborough.

 

FALMOUTH 0, YORK 0: Falmouth keeper Ben Goffin made three saves and York’s Noah Rickerich handled six as each earned a shutout. Falmouth’s record moved to 7-2-1; York is 6-2-1.

SOUTH PORTLAND 4, KENNEBUNK 2: South Portland (8-2) took a 3-1 lead in the first half and cruised to a win over Kennebunk (5-4-1) at South Portland.

The Rams took the lead on an early goal from Bobby Kramer. The Red Riots responded with goals from Akiba Davis, Dillon Leary and Mem Kaurin. Brian Campbell added a fourth goal for South Portland before Kennebunk’s Josh Prevatt was able to score the Rams’ second in the waning moments.

 

GREELY 0, CAPE ELIZABETH 0: Greely netminder Elijah Leverett made six saves to blank the Capers (7-1-2), and Brett Parker countered with three saves to stonewall the Rangers (5-4-1), at Cape Elizabeth.

 

YARMOUTH 5, FREEPORT 0: Yarmouth (9-0-1) scored three goals off headers in the first half on its way to defeating Freeport (2-8-1) at Yarmouth.

The first was scored by Campbell Belisle-Haley off a direct kick from Kyle Groves. Ryan Maguire set Luke Pierce on corner kicks twice in the final eight minutes to send the Clippers into halftime with a 3-0 lead.

Sam Torres and John Drouin added goals in the second half.

Yarmouth’s Chris Knaub made two saves and Freeport’s Connor Dietrich stopped seven.

 

WESTBROOK 2, BONNY EAGLE 1: Westbrook took a 2-0 lead and made it last in Westbrook.

Westbrook’s Dylan Gillis converted a pass from Owen Gill for a 1-0 halftime lead, then set up Andrew Sousa seven minutes into the second half to increase the lead to 2-0.

Ryan Jordan’s score brought the Scots (4-4-2) to within a goal with under eight minutes to play, but Austin Watts’ diving save in the waning moments maintained the lead.

Watts finished with three saves for Westbrook (4-5-1).

Jared Duggan had nine for Bonny Eagle.

 

WAYNFLETE 4, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 3: Tucker Geoffroy had two goals, including the winner with 1:26 left for the Flyers (6-0-2) against the Patriots (6-5) at Gray.

After Jack Martell scored two goals – one on a penalty kick and the other on a direct kick – in the second half to give the Patriots a 4-3 lead, Paul Runyanbo tied it midway through the second half.

In the first half, Geoffroy and Dave Wiener scored for the Flyers and Ryan Sullivan scored following an assist from Tyler Holmquist for the Patriots.

Ryan Cavallaro made 12 saves for the Patriots. Zach Majercik stopped 13 shots for the Flyers.

 

MT. ARARAT 2, BRUNSWICK 0: Aiden Talbot’s direct kick from just outside the penalty area 9:29 into the game pushed Mt. Ararat (4-3-2) ahead of the Dragons (8-2) in Brunswick. David Roux added a goal midway through the second half. Gabe Pelletier had the shutout with three saves.

 

THORNTON 4, BIDDEFORD 0: Devin Verville had a goal and an assist as the Trojans (1-8-1) beat Biddeford (0-10) in Saco.

Drew Landry, Brandon Briggs and Christian Bayden all scored. Ryan Lambert had a pair of assists. Aaron Sinclair also had an assist.

 

FRYEBURG 3, TRAIP 1: Fabian Schoerner broke a 1-1 tie with 8:30 left in the game and added a second goal a minute later as Fryeburg (3-6) slipped past the Rangers (1-7-1) in Kittery. Milos Jokow also scored for the Raiders. Traip’s Cole Kuehl scored.

 

SANFORD 0, MARSHWOOD 0: Cody McFarland stopped all eight shots he faced in net for the Redskins (3-6-1), and Jackson Towle stopped all six shots he faced for Marshwood (7-2-1) during a double shutout in Sanford.

SACOPEE VALLEY 5, LAKE REGION 0: Sacopee Valley’s Travis Truworthy booted in a 45-yard shot in the 17th minute for the winning goal in the Hawks’ win over Lake Region (2-7-1), at South Hiram.

Mitchell Watson, Justin Ray, and Nathan Foster all scored with headers in the second half for the Hawks (6-3-2).

 

GREATER PORTLAND CHRISTIAN 7, CHOP POINT 0: Ben Hammond’s three goals and an assist powered the Lions (6-3) past Chop Point (0-7) in Woolwich.

Anthony Simpson contributed a goal and an assist for GPCS. Jacob Rudolph, Than Peterson and Tophe Woodward scored the other goals.

WINSLOW 3, MEDOMAK VALLEY 0: Nick Papsis had a goal and an assist to lead the host Black Raiders to the win. Finn Ducker and Taylor Roy each scored a goal for host Winslow (8-2-0). Mackenzie Michaud made four saves. Robbie Griffin stopped one shot for the Panthers (2-7-2).

 

MORSE 3, OXFORD HILLS 1: Eric Trautman-Mosher, Taylor Oddleifson and Flemming Milke scored as Morse (7-3) beat the Vikings (1-7-1) in South Paris.

 

LEWISTON 8, CONY 1: Casey Bechard scored the only goal for the Rams, who lost their KVAC A game in Augusta. Blake Ducette and Slater Claudel combined to make 23 saves for Cony (0-9-1).
