AUGUSTA — The arrival of cooler temperatures is bringing higher heating oil prices in Maine.
According to the Governor’s Office of Energy Independence and Security, the average statewide price of a gallon of oil now stands at $2.66, up 7 cents a gallon from a week ago.
As usual, southern Maine has the lowest prices and northern Maine the highest.
Officials say kerosene is selling for an average of $3.01 gallon, up a nickel from a week ago. Propane is averaging $2.66 a gallon, down a penny.
