GRAY — Two drivers were arrested tonight during a license checkpoint that was set up on Route 100 in Gray by the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department.

Chief Deputy Kevin J. Joyce said that between 5 and 9 p.m. more than 200 motorists were stopped to verify that their licenses had not been suspended or revoked.

Wayne Addison, 53, of Portland and Richard McClain, 39, of Dayton were charged with operating while being an habitual offender.

A third motorist was summonsed for possession of a usable amount of marijuana while a fourth driver was given a warning for not wearing a seat belt.

The checkpoint was funded with a grant from the Maine Bureau of Highway Safety.
